Renegotiating Goals

Hey, hey GLPeeps! Coach Amanda here. Do you have goals? Whether it be fitness goals, nutrition goals or life goals, I got you!

How long have you been working on your current goal? If it’s been more than 6 months, well than it’s probably time to renegotiate it. Short-term goals typically span 1-2 months, and long-term goals space 3-6 months. Anything beyond that…well, is it really that important to you?

Do you keep moving the goal post on this goal? Do you find yourself saying, “Ah! It’s just this one time, I’ll get back on track tomorrow.” Or maybe your finding your actions do not align with the goals? You set the goal of running a marathon in the fall, and yet you are not running! Why not?! It might be time to ask yourself...

is this really a lifestyle change I am ready, willing and able to make?

Let’s talk renegotiating.

First, you should be realistic about the changes you are wanting to make. Are you setting a realistic timeline? If you find yourself feeling pressured or stressed about the timeline, do yourself a favor and renegotiate your end date! You can make this and other small changes so your big goal doesn’t seem so out of reach.

Sometimes making small changes can help transform your attitude toward your goal! It is normal to need to renegotiate, and the act in itself may teach you something important about who you are and what’s important to you (a.k.a your values!!).

As your coach, I want you to feel successful as well as have a positive outcome. I am here to support you with your goal and in your journey.

After all, Golden Rule # 5 is…

Celebrate your breakdowns!

Ask your coach for help if you want to renegotiate. Then go live your best life, your Golden life! Happy Renegotiating!

Much Love,
Coach Amanda
